PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide studied as a non-selective melanocortin-receptor agonist (MC3R/MC4R) and an active metabolite of Melanotan II. It is used in research into central melanocortin signalling and associated neuro-behavioural pathways in laboratory and animal models.
